Everybody is familiar with the Final Four tournament. 65 teams playing for a chance to be crowned National Champions. In the tournament, you have your sleepers, your buzzer-beaters, and your lovable Cinderella stories. You have to admit, it makes March a lot more exciting.

Everybody is familiar with the BCS. Coaches and computers determining who gets ranked and who plays who during the bowl season. Everybody is also familiar with all the complaining going on lately about how the BCS should be changed, to mirror that of the Final Four tournament.

Well people, instead of having the top-8 or top-10 teams play for the championship, how about you stop and think about this suggestion: why not have a tournament, in the BCS, where the Top-25 teams all play in a bracket style tournament to determine who plays for the championship. I know it would make it hard to determine who would play in the Rose, Orange, Sugar, and Fiesta Bowl, but it would allow everybody a shot at the title. This would make many people across the country happy. You never know, there may be a Cinderella story in this tournament as well.

It has been pointed out to me, that in some bowl games, stadiums are half-full, if not that, because either 1) the team is playing half-way across the country, or 2) because they know their team does not have a shot at the Championship, so why bother traveling$%: If this system were to be adopted, the higher ranked team would have home field advantage, up until the semi-finals, were two neutral sites will be chosen. This would allow fans to go and cheer on their team, knowing that they actually have a chance.

I have also overheard people complaining about how there are too many bowl games now. This year, there were 32 games, and I am sure that there is not one person in the country who watched every game in its entirety. This system would cut back on the number of bowl games played, allowing fans to watch more games, instead of missing out on some of the action.

I am aware that some people might disagree with me on this topic. For those of you who do disagree, this is only a writer's suggestion. For those of you who would agree with me, I am not saying this will actually happen in the near future, but you never know...
